Assignment overview

In our second assingment we were asked to create a storyboard animation about an Eco-system that we would develop. Within this world/island you must have at least 3 different creatures living there. You must then develop a story which involves these creaturs.

Initially I began to look a the films "Over the Hedge" and "Madagascar". These two films I enjoyed because they had a fantasy feel to them without looking truely unreal and exaggerated, even when the animals were acting like humans.

As I began to research in to the story that I would be using and the characters that I had in mind, which were a Parrot, Spider Monkey and a Puma. With the deliverance of  short presentation I recieved feed back that told me the idea was too much of a reality, which on looking back it became apparant. With this critique I was given I went straight back to the drawing board to initiate and new idea.

Research

I came up with a new idea that was basically about dragons attacking a castle where rats lived. As this is on a parallel universe, I decided I could make anything work and having rats as what humans would have been like in the medievil times seemed great. The rats would walk like humans, they would also have trolls as a means of defence, as this would be how they protect and fight back against the dragons.

Now that I had though of a new Idea, to create a concept bundle with I began looking at pictures/videos that would help me.
