Rat Character Development

 In the first stages of my Rat development I began to draw real life rats and progress them slowly in to something much more humanoid and rat like.

As the progression got further my rat drawing began to lose there definition, which I wanted to reinstate.

With this drawing I attempted to add mroe muscle tone, which gave the rat more human characteristics, but still remained very much rat looking.

 

This is a basic concept of what I want my rats to look like as this stands much more in a human way whilst still having the rat features it began with. With this concept I still belirve that it looks too basic and innocent.

This is my final concept for my rat character. I am happy with this as the innocence has gone from the character and fits with story.
